The Barns Green Half Marathon and 10K, near Horsham, West Sussex, is run on closed roads through the beautiful West Sussex countryside, passing through the historic Christ’s Hospital school, where the School’s famous marching band will be playing. We also have a jazz band at the start/finish and four other bands along the route, where there are water stations, distance markers, marshals and of course the support of all the locals and spectators.
We are celebrating our 35th year of the Half Marathon in 2017, which is recognised as being extremely well organised and winner of a Runners World award in 2012.
We are proud and unique in presenting gold medals to our first 100 men and women, silver medals to the next 100 men and women and a hugely deserved bronze medal to all our finishers. We provide a goody bag for each finisher, secure baggage storage and free parking.
2017 will see the return of the 10K, after an extremely successful inaugural race in 2016. As the 10K also goes through Christ’s Hospital the 10K runners will also be encouraged by the School’s 100 strong marching band.
Not only that but the route to the finish is downhill!
The 10K runners will also receive a medal, goody bag, secure baggage storage and free parking.
Our chosen charity is St Catherine’s Hospice, who provide invaluable care and support for patients with life limiting illnesses.
